i can't believe i forgot to tell JWest this, but bill really hates 90% of tv's color comentators. that's why he liked jeff van gundy so much during these playoffs. HE ACTUALLY KNOWS WHATS GOING ON BECAUSE HE'S IN BASKETBALL. bill said this made him realize that color men should have to retire after 10 years of not being in the sport; after that you just think your right all the time, but the game has passed you by. His first three mandatory cuts: tim mccarver (who i despise to no end), billy packer, and....joe morgan.
oh he gave amnesty to bill raftery pat summerall, and hubie brown, for obvious reasons (still spinnin'...)

I agree with the 10 year rule. This is a sample of answeres given by ESPN's baseball "expert". You know you get to email joe morgan your questions and he answeres them...

imagine if you asked your stock broker about a stock and he said "i never worked there, so i can't really say what it will do". oh wait, that would never happen b/c that person would get fired.
also i really may have listed the only exceptions to the 10 year rule; it's a pretty sound rule. hubie brown is allowed to do nba games until he dies. he looks like hell, but he was a coach 3 years ago and went to the playoffs and invented the usage "out with a knee". i got posted on the bill simmons mail bag once b/c i said a guy on academic probation was "out with a quiz' thanks hubie.
